Tableau Grand totals as text

The following steps will help you to get the grand totals as text and the dimension members will be bars.

1-Drag Regions to Rows and sales to columns

2-Add grand total using Analysis →Total → Show grand totals for columns

3- make sure Text is turned off for the SUM (sales) measure.

4 Click SUM (sales) measure in columns go to options and set the total using option to hide. This will turn off the bar for grand totals only all other dimension member will still show the bars.

5-Create a dummy measure as avg(1) this will split the view into two

6-set the table calculation to percentage of total for Avg(1).

7-Now create a dual axis using and synchronize axis and turn the chart type to bars for sum (sales) and automatic for AVG (1) measure, edit axis and set it to Fixed →fixed start 0 and other end as automatic.

8 drop off all measure values and any other values from marks cards for both measure.

9-drag sales to labels on AVG (1) and sum(sales) measures and set the alignment to top right for sum(sales) and top left alignment for AVG(1)

10-click AVG(1) on measure → to go marks card → click text →click font →and set it to Match marks color and increase font size as desired.

11. Click Avg(1) →change the size to minimum and then hide both axis.
