My Letter To Santa
Dear Santa,
I am writing you this Christmas on behalf of my fellow man. I don’t need all the toys and distractions, that were placed here, to keep my attention off of the real problems.
We as a society has been very naughty, and with this being said, I know that you are still going to bring us presents. You love us no matter what. This is why I believe that we keep falling back into our bad habits. Please bring us compassion for our fellow man. Please warm our hearts and open it — when other humans hurt. For we are damaged, not to far beyond repair.
We can be fixed.
We are all not perfect, and I am working on it day to day. Like everyone else.
Bring us the mistletoe of thankfulness. Deliver it in the form of snow, so that it can cover everything with a thick coat of white. Which symbolizes that it is time to start anew. When the sun melts the snow away, let it wash away the grief in our aching souls.
Souls that are in fear with every waking moment. Souls that are lost. Souls that need someone — or something — to reach out to.
The red nose reindeer — and all of his friends — has a major task at hand. Santa, as you travel through the skies and soar over cities, please send us help.
I know that your helpers are plentiful; so let them stay with each and everyone of us. Let them stay all year round. Tell them to kiss us goodnight — every night — and let us know it will be ok.
Why?
Because you are here for us.
They may be short, but they are blessed — because they are of you.
I promise not to forget the milk and cookies this year. FOR THAT I AM TRULY SORRY!
You know that I mean well; it is just that life has caught up with me. I know, I know, this is no excuse. I have fallen out of touch with you.
But can you help…
To bring back a smile to the child in all of us. To reignite the flame that made our faces glow. For we actually never grow up, but repress the child within ourselves. Make our hearts light, so that we can defy the ravages of time and live forever.
Grant us the wish of peaceful harmony, so that our children can be safe wherever they go. Reunite our families and spread the love that was once there, but now has vanished.
I understand that you are swamped and have more correspondences to attend to. Please attend to my brothers and sisters, and let them know that I love them.
The sweaters, cookies, eggnog, and the decorations are a small part of it — but it really comes from within our souls. Souls that you know are good, but have lost their way trying to make something of themselves in this life.
This is all I want for Christmas.
Opps. I mean forever!
