This sounds like a sound approach to transitioning from one model to another — a tiny bit confusing at first blush (no way around that I figure in prose form) and certainly more expensive, but neither egregiously priced nor hostile to those who have purchased the app in the past. A lot of software publishers could learn from this so I hope it works in your favor.
