It’s hard to know what to say here, and I’m not really sure of the message you are trying to convey. I’m NOT going to throw in any religions allusions or anything of the sort. We can all agree that the primary factor here is your son’s health, and you should be the best equipped to handle that.

I’m relieved you aren’t trying to actively make your boy into a girl, parlaying his fascination with girlie things into a sacrifice to the Leftist g-ds who seem to love the smell of burnt genitalia. You’ll find many “parents” who would be planning for hormone therapy and eventual orchiectomy/pinectomy to make the kid feel somehow more complete while missing some vital parts.

The big question, which I cannot answer, is this: Should you or should you not indulge his obsession as you are doing? Will you harm him with this, or would he experience more harm if you tossed all the Barbies and locked him in a room with GI Joe’s? (Is there a female GI Jane? Maybe you could start there.)

I wish you and your son the best of health and luck. Time will tell if you’ve done the right things with him.
