11. Nothing is as it seems to be. (100in100)

A rule I keep reminding myself of everytime I envy someone for their high pay check or social status or beauty.

A motto I only get aware of when a friend confesses to me how tired and disconnected she feels from her ‘shallow’ social life that I once envied her for so much she ‘seemed’ blooming in it.

Or when a successful entrepreuneur confesses that his mother and sister haven’t talked to him in 10 years. Is that really success?

Don’t fall for labels and appearances and the shells people show us of their life.

Everything has its up and downs.

Compete over honesty and kindness and knowledge not over large social circles and wealth and status.
