15. Why I should call my Uncle -back? (100in100)

I stated here why and how I’m not a big fan of phone conversations.

And there’s this uncle of mine who has been trying for a year to get me in the habit of talking on the phone with him every now and then.

He failed.

Everytime he calls and I don’t answer, I feel terrible and I promise to call him back but I never do..almost never.

Recently I heard that he has been going through shit. Shit that didn’t keep him from calling me and talking to me in a cheerful voice.

It made me feel more terrible.

Not only had I rejected his unnecessary kindness for the sole reason that I’m an introvert but I also missed on the opportunity of helping or just soothing some pain.

People don’t live on your kindness or are waiting on your graceful presence, so stop getting stuck in the threads of your own fabric and be the candle to which light people will weave beautiful patchworks.
