4. The 2 precious gifts my divorced parents raised me on. (100in100)
My parents got divorced when I was 3 months old.
The therapist once asked me what’s the best thing my parents raised me on, I had no answer. I was too hurt.
4 years of maturity later, I just saw the 2 precious gifts both my parents inflicted in my psyche.
My mother was friends with a lot of black people and poor people and rich people. She treated them all the same.
My father used to scold me for interrupting anyone while they’re talking.
I’m the less judgemental person I know and respect is what I receive the most of people.
I never knew what blackmailing was until I went to school where I discovered how my parents’ friends conditioned their love for their kids with the kids school marks. My parents loved me unconditionally no matter what I did.
I never link my love for people to their mistakes or performances in life, I love them for who they are, unconditionally.
