Well… Trump’d
I didn't think it possible, but Donald Trump's "major foreign policy address" on Wednesday-a written speech, which he…www.slate.com
I don’t understand the American public… except maybe they believe the current political class is so despicably corrupt that idiocy is preferable.
I’m not sure that I disagree with that thought, entirely, it might — just might — be enough to convince the idiots of Congress that America should be first, not party politics.
That would make Trump the “Great Uniter.” And it wouldn’t be too terrible of a thing. The Republican and Democratic parties have been acting in their own self-interest, over the interest of America and their constituents, for a long time.
Proof? Just look at the amount of time spent fundraising. They should give up the cash addiction — they are the only legit leading parties in America. Their time should be spent on governing, not fundraising.
So what’s worse? Corrupt political parties who are so self-interested that they can’t even recognize the perversion of governance that they represent or a childish President?
I’m not sure. But honestly, I’d choose a childish President over corrupt parties. The parties, working together, could easily contain most of the damage a President is capable of by simply exercising their Constitutional duty to actually legislate.
Three co-equal branches of governance.
But, of late, our Senators and Representatives spend their time feeding the fundraising coffers. Would the fear of a President Trump change their attitudes? I think so.
His ascended is directly related to both parties playing on fear and populism to put down the other side. Trump co-opted their methods, their words and took them to their logical conclusion…. and the parties are surprised?
Unlike Russia’s Putin, a President Trump would have significant Constitutional constraints.
Maybe he’s just the medicine we need to swallow to get the politicians who have managed to ascend the ranks of the Democratic and Republican parties to remove their heads from their assholes.
If their priorities were straight, he would have been sent back to reality TV a long time ago.
