Why I’m organized

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit too organized.
But being organized can be a lifesaver, at work and beyond.
You couldn’t imagine how much of a time saver too.
But be careful: organized doesn’t have to mean routine.
It just means that, when you get to work, you know what’s urgent, you know how to prioritize, and when you leave work, you know the important tasks that await you in the morning.
When you’re organized, you don’t freak out when something more urgent comes along.
When you’re organized, you don’t pay a fortune to go on holidays.
Of course, it may have its downsides, if you’re too organized. You need to have some craziness in your life, some spontaneity. But being organized usually helps you with that.
I sometimes feel I should be an “organized life coach” or something. Laugh all you want, but some people would really benefit this.
Don’t you see all these “work methods” presented on your feed on Medium or even Facebook? Well, the truth is, their key is simple: it’s discipline.
Every evening, when you’re about to leave work, take a paper and a pencil and write down what you have to do the next day. Then prioritize your tasks. And you’re good to go! It’ll take 5 minutes but you’ll feel better.
You’ll see, your mind will feel a lot freer after that. No need to think about work, everything is on this little piece of paper.
And if you have emergencies? Just re-prioritize based on that list and that’s it.
You can do the same with your private life, but then, as I said, not everything should be planned ;).
