This week we got an interview with Alejandro from Scoop. Take a listen to the podcast!

We live in a digital world where people are letting us know what they eat for breakfast with a tweet, snap, or Instagram post. The sense of anything being private anymore is an anomaly; just take a look at our news and elections. Our secrets now have a digital footprint, and it’s one that is hard to cover up. On the flip side, the positives of living digital are making it easier for us to keep in touch, understand what is happening, and find stuff to do. With the world at our fingertips, what will we decide to do?

Scoop App was created to help locals find people, places, and events in your area. Today, on the DailySpin Startup Spotlight we talk to Alejandro, founder of Scoop.

Alejandro explains to us that the goal was to find something to do in your area. Often, people sit around at home, procrastinating, without anything to do. Boredom and laziness, are some of the problems that Scoop is looking to help cure. The app allows people to post events in their area, ranging from concerts, pickup sports, and more. People can then find these events and choose what they want to do.

Alejandro explains on the podcast how it was important to him to help connect people. He brings up how he has a standing game of poker and Scoop allows them to find additional players to fill the table when necessary. We also discuss the security of the app, and Alejandro explains that while the team has details within the app to ensure people can make sure the people they are talking to are real. FB required registration allows users of the app to make sure the accounts have passed Facebook authentication protocols.
