We had created our original wine label as the end of year project over a decade to use as Christmas gift for family and friends. With the culmination of our ten-year project we put only a QR code on the wine label. You scan the QR code with your mobile phone and listen to our Christmas message and about the wine.
While we were thinking about a new idea for the project, I was designing a logo for my client. My client was my Agile coach who are about to start his new company. He told me about the “Oblique Strategies” to change perspective on things try to get some hints from the Oblique Strategies. We got the idea for creating our own version of “Oblique Strategies.”
It is called:
Circumlocutory Strategies for Creative Breakthroughs
We came up with 52 different messages to help or change your perspective on things for when you are creatively blocked. The 52 message are divided into 4 groups, 13 cards in each group. You can use them as playing card games. The theme of design celebrates the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus, applied to colours and grid design.

This set of cards is a deck of many methods to coax you into coming up with creative breakthroughs. It is loosely based on Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies except these are things we’ve used to make our breakthroughs. Any similarities are coincidental and accidental.
