This report presents the dynamics and trends we anticipate across the enterprise mobility landscape in 2017. A growing focus on productivity, the intersection with technologies such as business process management and the Internet of Things, the evolution of mobile point of sale and the impact of mobile on data management competencies all figure into this forward-looking outlook.
TREND 5: THE CHAT BOT WAVE WILL SUBSIDE, GIVING WAY TO
WORKFLOW-CENTRIC APPROACHES
Implication: Media interest in chat bots reached peak levels in 2016, but 451 Research believes that bots will take longer than expected to take their place in the enterprise. Rather, the larger trend of disrupting the end-user experience, of which chat bots are a part, will manifest through innovations and strategic
approaches focusing on workflows.
451 Research expects companies will increasingly adopt a strategic approach to support internal business processes and enterprise applications. Emerging technologies such as chatbots, app streaming, client containers and the digital workspace will help companies redefine how workers interact with enterprise applications and with each other.
