This hasn’t happened to me, but I’m not surprised at all. I’m kinda meh about this, in the fact naturally I wish it didn’t happen, but I also don’t blame the individual drivers. I do hope Uber is actually monitoring the # of cancellations.
I tell myself the same thing as when there’s traffice — “You are not IN traffic, you ARE traffic”. Ie, if I’m trying to grab an Uber at 7 pm on Friday night, I’m directly contributing to the surge pricing for other people as well. If this happened at 1 pm on a Monday afternoon, I’d be super annoyed though.
