A client makes http requests to a server in normal client server architecture. HTTP requests have two parts separated by a blank line: HEADER which contains meta data about request and a BODY containing actual data.

In http, the header has: An http method symbolizing the action that is to take place on the resource, URI to the resource, type of data in the body, cookies, and other metadata describing request.

The HTTP body holds data, normally text, encoded as a JSON body, form data, or XML.
