I’m Grateful to be American

As I stood in front of the 25th President’s coffin, the gravity of the moment hit me. It made me think about how lucky I am to be an American and also how the assassination of a President can have a profound effect on the nation. Theodore Roosevelt was William McKinley’s Vice-President. [I AM NOT IN ANY MANNER CONDONING AN ASSASSINATION, Just pointing out the effect it has.] While I stood in front of this coffin, all of the left-wing rhetoric came to my mind, but I tried to just take in the gravity of what I stood in front of. It was the dose of national pride that I needed right before Independence Day. Honestly, the fact that it was a former President made me (at least internally) emotional. It’s just the feeling that hits you when you are met with anything of this magnitude. It’s indescribable. It brings feelings of pride but also grief. This is what the left doesn’t understand about an assassination, the whole nation would be effected, Forever. Enough with the heavy stuff. I want everyone to think about what America stands for this Fourth of July. Don’t be afraid to take pride in the Greatest Nation on the Planet! Celebrate with the ones you love and enjoy their company. This is what life is all about folks. Enjoy it.
