My Opinion on Today’s Political Climate
My thoughts on today’s political climate: It’s becoming increasingly intense and pushing closer to large scale violence. I would love for everyone to just magically get along but that’s not going to happen anytime soon. Americans as a whole have such a wide diversity of thought that finding common ground on just about anything is seemingly impossible. The first step back to civility is agreeing on morals and values. Right and Wrong. Once we establish this then we can branch out and find topics of agreement. I’m not offering an easy solution, because there simply isn’t one. But I am at least attempting to find ways to bring us to these solutions. As President Lincoln said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” I believe this to be true. Look at us right now. We are fighting ourselves more than we are fighting the real threats to our Western way of life: Modern Feminism, Radical Islam, attempts to restrict free speech through boycotts, sponsor withdraw, ect. When we confront these issues head on, without fear of outrage or backlash, only then will we be headed in the correct direction as a nation.
