I have speed — read the memo and when it says:
“ Google’s educational programs for young women may be misguided.

this DOESN’T equate to your most uncharitable interpretation of
“we should stop trying to make it possible for women to be engineers”

I really do not know where you pull this from but I think your interpretation is dangerous and assumes that women are weaker than men. There are plenty strong women in engineering who may take umbrage with quotas and being treated as a “disabled” class. Positive discrimination can actually be a blocking stone as it assumes less capability. It treats women as part of a victim class which can cause more damage and will repel stronger personality who want to be regarded because of their merit and not based on class adherences.
