As others say, well done. Another fact to consider: a few short years ago UPS blew holiday deliveries for Amazon. Had UPS considered how to effectively flex their delivery resources, Amazon would not have put ‘last mile delivery’ so high on the priority list.
The obvious challenges with this kind of flexible resource handling potentially valuable packages is theft, and robbery. Why hold up the pizza delivery guy if you can hold up someone with $1,000s of packages in their vehicles. Audio/video is great for investigation, but not for prevention.
Robbing postal workers / mail boxes happens despite the fact it is truly a federal offense.
As we move further towards the gig/sharing economy, these issues (and others) will become higher priority.
