Decay

Many of the elements of this photograph are out of their normal environment. The crop is in an ice environment; they can’t grow, and will be left to decay. The girl dressed in summer clothes is also misplaced in the winter scene. All these combine with the wistful look of the girl to give an impression of the struggle of being outside our home environment. This image expresses the difficulty I have felt to develop and grow in the my current setting. Yet, I posed myself leaning against that wooden pole, which is symbolic of support. Support comes to me from many people and places, and I cannot be more thankful for them.

I don’t know which edit I prefer! This is such a common problem I have. I was going to use the black and white edit, but then when I asked on social media the majority of responses preferred the coloured option…
