It’s Working, Part Deux

Well, I blew up my “whisper launch” plan. I couldn’t help myself. I let the cat out of the bag at Sourcecon. Which means that close to 500 people now know about Recruiter Hunt, plus the folks who were reading the Twitter stream.

My initial plan was to reach out to a few key people and have them seed RH with their favorite tools and add a few comments. But after Jim Schnyder’s session, where the entire audience participated in a freestyle shareback of tools and tactics, I couldn’t stop myself from making an announcement.

Perfect, right? Yes. Except the site isn’t quite ready. It’s getting there. But creating a website is a long, involved ugly process. There are quite a few design and functionality changes in the backlog. Right now, it isn’t even clear what you should do once you get to the site.

My developer — the third to work on RH — promises some major changes this weekend. About 3 days too late. But I am so excited to share this that I couldn’t restrain myself. So if you visited, and it looked kind of ghetto, please come back later. It will get better.

Lastly, I want to make sure users know what RH is all about:

  • I have always wanted a way to save and share my favorite recruiting and sourcing tools and bookmarks. That’s why I built this.
  • I also want to go beyond what I know. I want this to be a community site. A central place where we can learn from each other, contribute and improve.
  • RH will always be free to use. There is no hidden agenda or monetization strategy. Right now, I’m paying for the development out of pocket. Maybe there is some way to earn money through advertising or whatever, but I’ll worry about that later.

So take a look around, sign in. Share something. Add a comment. Send me feedback. Can’t wait for this thing to grow.
