Student Senate President Ricky Palermo

On the last Tuesday in September, I sat down with the Student Senate President at Saint Mary’s University, Ricky Palermo. Ricky is a junior Public Relations major, and hopes to one day get into sports broadcasting.

I spoke with Palermo about how he got started into Student Senate, what he liked/disliked about it, and a few changes that he has in store for the future. Palermo seemed excited about some changes in regards to LCT (Lasallian core traditions) and how we could improve the style in which the course is taught.

He talked about how he had a great support system around him, and loves trying to make Saint Mary’s a better place for everyone. One of the biggest challenges Palermo has is getting everyone around him on the same page.
But Palermo says he enjoys it, and problem solving is one of his strong suits.

After speaking with Palermo even after our interview, I came to know he has some great ideas, and only has the best intentions of this University at heart.
