Picasso Without Brush
I learnt drawing when I was in school. It was an interest that never died over the years. On the opposite, it kept growing. That is why even I have no knowledge of complex programs like Adobe’s Photoshop or Autocad’s Sketch — I hope I spelled them right— I used to draw with graphite. I have a drawer full of pencils and I feel bliss when I can draw my emotions out. All that comes out of my efforts is seen by real world people and seldom online because at two different events, I found someone steal my artwork and shamelessly post that online. It was not a good feeling. Almost two years ago, I got my first iPad and a couple of months back, I upgraded to another. I like it for many reasons but two reasons made me fall in love with it. The first is almost all my comic collection I have moved on it. Thanks to my brother’s wallet which gets all the dents, but that’s what brothers are for, right? Haha
The other reason is drawing. I don’t know any tools which keep scaring my inner creative to draw on a computer. But I was hunting for a stylus to work with the iPad. After almost a week of effort and going to places where no girl would happily want to go (Hafeez Center Plaza, Lahore) , I was able to find a worthy stylus. It’s a Wacom’s Intuos. Without even any knowledge of digital sphere, I am drawing things right on a screen and I ve never been much happier. I discovered some apps that work almost seamlessly with it and interestingly they are made by Adobe. Without a stylus, it was so hard to draw with fingers. Sadly, the so called electronic markets are full of typical stuff. We limit our spectrums when we associate things to words thats why art for many is just painting, technology is just mobile phones and Picasso was just a kaafir. Wrong!
