Life at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy
In the format “Life of the Ice Hockey Talents”, our boys from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in Salzburg, Austria, tell you their stories. They let you know what´s going on in their Hockey lives as well as aside from sports. Today, 17-year old German Defender Johannes Huß (@johannes_huss) gives us a few words of what life in the Academy in Salzburg is like. Let´s hear him.
“Hi there, I would like to give you a little insight into our life at the Ice Hockey Academy here. Before I moved in, I expected it to be quite different. I thought it would be very, very strict. However, this expectation did not become reality. The atmosphere is actually quite easy-going and living together with the other players and educators is great. Of course only, if you do your job and repect each other and behave yourself in the right way.
Most of my time, I spend in the rink or off-ice in the weight room or on the treadmill or bike. In our free time, we just hang out in the Academy and do activities like table-top football or competing on the Playstation 4. Or we just relax in the rooms, that´s very necessary sometimes, too.
By the way, the food here is outstanding! As for education, additionally to the normal school life, we have to attend a learning hour every day, so our brain muscles get some training as well ;-).
So far, a brief insight and some impressions from our life here at the Academy. Hope you liked it. Greetings to you, stay tuned for the next blog post.
