UMEED Truly Empowers Women in this RedStart Story
By Gauri Mahendra, Founder of UMEED
I have had the privilege of working with a couple of female artisans of the Handloom unit of Tilonia, a small village in Rajasthan, India. Their handloom products are inspired by sustainable development programs underway in the region.
For instance, designs created in block print represent rain water harvesting programs, education campaigns or solar power schemes and a portion of the profit from every product sold goes directly back to the programs that inspired them. I believe initiatives such as these celebrate talent, in an industry which too often neglects to adequately support its workers.
To support all of these programs, you can buy our products through the website: www.umeedforwomen.com
