My Path To Regium
I caught the entrepreneurial bug quite early and opened a bar/restaurant at the tender age of 19. In 2005, I co-founded Bloomsburys, a premier multi-restaurant delivery service in Berlin, Germany, which grew from 2 people to over 100 employees in just 5 years.
During this period, I began to notice how online content and retail businesses were (oddly) underutilizing all the amazing technology that was suddenly available. Were they not as excited about this technology as I was? Or were they just not aware? Either way, there was a clear opportunity to seize the moment and play a part in pushing that evolution along.
So, in 2011, I exited Bloomsburys and returned to the U.S. to pursue a bigger vision, which eventually became Bringhub.
Bringhub’s solutions are geared toward improving the online consumer journey, bridging the gap between discovery and purchase by creating value (and great experiences) for consumers, content creators, and retailers. Or, as TechCrunch describes us:
“Bringhub allows online publishers to add e-commerce capabilities to their stories and ads.”
Over the years, the Bringhub team has had the good fortune of working with some of the biggest names in online publishing space including Oath, Time Inc., Forbes, eBay, and Nordstrom.
Every one of our partners has, at some point, lamented the challenges they’re facing with the current digital advertising ecosystem. Things like fraud, the transparency of big data, and middlemen.
Internally as a company, we also faced these issues.
After a few passionate brainstorming sessions, we realized that blockchain technology could actually solve a lot of problems in digital advertising. Beyond that, the platform we envisioned building could solve issues not only for digital advertising but for a whole range of payment-per-usage data economies. Hence “Regium,” which is Latin for “royalty.”
So, Bringhub founded the Regium Foundation with a mission to transform data economies with all the benefits of the blockchain, for clients, for ourselves, and for anyone who wants to leverage the immense transformative capabilities of this technology.
