The 2nd research item used in TechCog design trials is the Cintiq Companion. Be advised that this covers mostly any Wacom hardware that contains Wacom Desktop center drivers.

Hardware malleability:

Mostly all Wacom hardware somewhat carry the same form in some way in that it’s a surface with powerful input hardware. The Companion’s form is unique in that it’s a Cintiq with Windows 7 software built into it. Very ergonomic in its form. The tablet laptop is built so that the input surface is ambidextrous to allow comfortable flipping of screen orientation. The tablet PC can also be used in a vertical orientation; making it convenient for programmers who need to see a document with multiple lines. It comes with only a screen therefore one needs to buy a separate keyboard to use with it. But if needed it contains a screen based keyboard. On its surface it contains 9 programmable inputs(not including the screen which adds numerous more with finger gestures); making it a very malleable product.

Software Malleability:

A creative technology that has. been in development for 3 decades. It’s a Native device which contains all TechCog advantages. Each ability is expansive to a certain degree. Macro ability is present with multiple inputs, all ascii keys accessible. 10 surface inputs, again not including the the screen which contains a fractal amount.

State change is only accessible via target awareness. Cognitive mapping isn’t as advanced as it’s newer models, but you can map a button to display your current layout. All an all a strong device to have. Collectively Wacom hardware performs very much the same, but give more accessibility for newer models.
