Defender Megan Oyster has re-signed with Seattle Reign FC for the 2019 NWSL season. As per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Seattle selected Oyster in the NWSL Dispersal Draft on January 30, 2018. In her first year with Reign FC, Oyster started 21 games and played a total of 1,890 minutes. She scored her first goal with the club on June 23 against North Carolina, off a corner kick from Megan Rapinoe. Oyster tallied two assists on the season and was a fixture on the Reign FC defense that logged a NWSL record-tying 12 clean sheets in 2018, while conceding only 21 goals.

“Megan was an important addition to our defense last season,” said head coach Vlatko Andonovski. “She’s a strong, steady defender and I’m looking forward to seeing her build on her success in 2019.”

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Seattle next year,” said Oyster. “We have unfinished business to take care of and I can’t wait to get back with my teammates and get started!”
