Jasmyne Spencer has re-signed with the Seattle Reign FC for the 2019 season.

Spencer has been playing in the NWSL since its inaugural 2013 season, when she played for the Washington Spirit. After spending the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Western New York Flash, the Pride selected Spencer in the NWSL Expansion Draft. Spencer made 40 appearances for Orlando, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.

Spencer joined Reign FC in a trade with Orlando prior to the 2018 season. Her debut in the home opener against the Washington Spirit marked her 100th cap in the NWSL. Spencer went on to start nine games last season and appeared in 23 of the club’s 25 matches for a total of 1,027 minutes played. She scored two goals, including the lone Reign FC goal in the NWSL semifinal match vs. Portland.

“Jasmyne came in and had an immediate impact on our club last year,” said Reign FC head coach Vlatko Andonovski. “Her speed is a valuable weapon for us and her energy and toughness on the pitch make her a great player to coach.”

Spencer is currently on loan to Melbourne City FC in the Australian W-League, where she has scored four goals over the first six matches.

“I couldn’t be more excited to return to Seattle and play with my teammates,” Spencer said. “I learned and improved so much last year and I’m looking forward to building on that success next season.”
