Jess Fishlock and Megan Rapinoe Named to NWSL Team of the Month
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has announced that Seattle Reign FC midfielder Jess Fishlock and forward Megan Rapinoe have been named to the NWSL Team of the Month for the month of June. This is the third straight month at least one Reign FC player has earned the honor during the 2017 NWSL season.
Reign FC went 1–1–2 during the month of June, with Fishlock and Rapinoe starting all four matches. This is the second time this season Fishlock has been named to the team of the month, having also earned the honor in April.
Rapinoe currently leads the league in goals with seven. The forward scored three of those goals in June, with two coming via penalty kick in Wednesday’s win against the Chicago Red Stars.
