Megan Rapinoe to take ride of a lifetime with the Blue Angels
In case you haven’t noticed, Reign FC forward and U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) star Megan Rapinoe has captivated eyes across the country (and let’s be honest, the world) since the USA put on a show in Canada and captured the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
As such, Rapinoe will soar on Wednesday, July 29 as she rides in the No. 7, two-seater jet of the Blue Angels with Marine Captain Jeff Kuss. The Blue Angels Narrator and a Key Influencer Pilot will perform precision maneuvers as part of a F/A-18 orientation flight prior to this weekend’s SeaFair event.

“I’ve been watching the Blue Angels since I was a kid, growing up in Redding, California. I am beyond giddy to be able to fly with them,” says the USWNT star.
Prior to the flight, Rapinoe will be available for a media event beginning at 8:45 a.m. PT before being strapped into the jet at 9:30 a.m. PT.
The event, along with the flight, will take place at Boeing Field, 10002 E. Marginal Way, Tukwila, Wash.

In case you need a bit of a refresher, Rapinoe was an instrumental member of the USWNT World Cup winning squad. She played 462 minutes and started a total of six matches. Her two goals lifted the USA over Australia in their 3–1 opening group stage win of the tournament on June 8. The midfielder also had two assists in the tournament, including the corner kick that led to Carli Lloyd’s opening goal in the USWNT’s 5–2 win over Japan in the final.
The Redding, Calif. native recently returned to the pitch for Reign FC and played 81minutes in Seattle’s rivalry matchup with the Portland Thorns. Rapinoe delivered the quick pass that lead to Scottish international Kim Little’s game-wining goal as Reign FC defeated the Thorns 1–0 in front of an NWSL record crowd of 21,144 at Providence Park on Wednesday, July 22.

Reign FC will now face Thorns FC in a Cascadia clash rematch, taking place today, July 26 at 4 p.m. PT on the Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium.
Tonight’s match will be the first time that Reign FC have opened the South Grandstand as every section except premium grandstand seats are sold out. Fewer than 200 seats for the match remain and ticket be purchased at ReignFC.com.
If you can’t make it to the stadium, download the official, free Reign FC app here to watch every match home and away live via YouTube on your iPhone.
