Wednesday was a pretty great day. It was a beautiful morning that started with USWNT stars Hope Solo, Carli Lloyd and Julie Johnston raising the flag on the Space Needle and ended with a good ball game of soccer at CenturyLink Field.
After Brazil went up 1–0 early off a corner kick, the USA spent the next 80 minutes pressing for an equalizer. Chances were just off the mark time and time again, but in the 85th minute, the goal scoring powerhouse that is Lloyd came up big to bring the final score to 1–1. With the draw, Team USA extended their home unbeaten run to 101 matches, which is a lot guys.
The best part of the evening was definitely seeing Reign FC’s very own Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo play for the Red, White and Blue in Seattle. The evening was a bit extra special as Solo was able to represent her country in front of her hometown crowd.
Reign FC photographer Catie Bergman was on hand to document the match and we’ve posted those images below for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
