Seattle Reign FC announced today that the club has traded the rights to forward Summer Green to the Chicago Red Stars in exchange for an international roster spot for the 2017 season, as well as the 37th overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft.

Seattle now holds five international roster spots for the upcoming season.

Green was Seattle’s 30th overall pick in the 2016 NWSL Draft. Recovering from an ACL tear suffered in the 2015 NCAA tournament, Green did not suit up for Reign FC during the 2016 season.

“Summer is a great prospect for the future and we felt that she deserved to go to a club that saw her having an impact on their team,” said head coach and general manager Laura Harvey. “She has worked tirelessly on her rehab and I wish her a very successful career.”

In a separate transaction, Reign FC has waived goalkeeper Andi Tostanoski.

Joining the club in 2016, Tostanoski made two appearances in net for Seattle, including her professional debut on July 9th against the Western New York Flash. The Colorado native made her first professional start on July 16th in a 1–1 tie against the Flash at Memorial Stadium.

“Andi made fantastic progress in her rookie season and stepped in for us when needed,” said Harvey. “I believe she has great potential in her future, and I know she plans on looking overseas to get more experience which is a great opportunity for her. We all want to thank Andi for her commitment last season.”
