The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) have announced that Seattle Reign FC forward Megan Rapinoe has been named to the NWSL Team of the Month for the month of July. This is the fourth straight month at least one Reign FC player has earned the honor during the 2017 NWSL season, and the second straight month Rapinoe was named to the team.
Reign FC went 2–1–1 during the month of July, with Rapinoe starting all four matches. Including Team of the Month, Rapinoe earned four NWSL awards in July, winning Goal of the Week and Player of the Week for week 14, and being honored as Player of the Month.
Rapinoe currently leads the league in goals with 12. The forward scored five of those goals in July, with three of those coming in Reign FC’s 5–4 win over Sky Blue FC. With her hat trick, Rapinoe became just the second player in NWSL history to record two hat tricks in their NWSL career.
