Seven Seattle Reign FC players will be joining Australian side Melbourne City FC for their 2018–2019 W-League campaign. In addition, Reign FC midfielder Elizabeth Addo has been loaned to the Western Sydney Wanderers.

Four players — defenders Lauren Barnes and Theresa Nielsen, goalkeeper Lydia Williams, and forward Jasmyne Spencer — have all been loaned to Melbourne City FC for the entirety of the upcoming W-League season.

Forward Jodie Taylor will link up with Melbourne in late December, on loan through the end of the end of the W-League season.

Steph Catley, who was loaned to Reign FC by Melbourne City FC for the 2018 NWSL season, will play the 2018–2019 W-League season for Melbourne City FC before returning to Seattle.

Elise Kellond-Knight will also play the 2018–2019 W-League season for Melbourne City FC before joining Seattle Reign FC.

All seven players will return to Seattle Reign FC prior to the start of the 2019 NWSL season.

Melbourne City FC are the three-time W-League champions. Current and former Seattle players, including defender Rebekah Stott, midfielders Jess Fishlock and Kim Little, and forward Bev Yanez have all featured prominently for Melbourne during their multi-year championship run.

Midfielder Elizabeth Addo will head to Australia as well, playing the 2018–2019 W-League campaign for the Western Sydney Wanderers. Addo will also return to Seattle prior to the start of the 2019 NWSL preseason.
