Seattle Reign FC announced today the signing of Australian international forward Larissa Crummer, pending receipt of her P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Crummer will join Reign FC upon the conclusion of the 2016–2017 Australian W-League season.

Crummer is on a Melbourne City FC squad that includes a bevy of Seattle players, including Jessica Fishlock, Lauren Barnes, Beverly Yanez, and recent Reign FC signee Rebekah Stott. Crummer has been out of action since January 14th, when she suffered a broken foot in a match against the Melbourne Victory.

“I’m excited to join the Reign for the upcoming season, as I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the club,” said Crummer. “This is a new challenge for me in a great league and I’m thankful to Seattle for giving me the opportunity.”

In her debut season with City in 2015, Crummer scored the club’s first W-League goal in their opening match against Sydney FC and grabbed ten additional goals over the course of the campaign, good for the W-League’s Golden Boot award last season. Melbourne City finished the season undefeated on their way to a 4–1 win in the Grand Final.

Prior to joining Melbourne City FC, Crummer played in the W-League for the Brisbane Roar from 2012 to 2013 and Sydney FC 2013 to 2015. Crummer featured mostly as a defender during her time with Sydney FC.

“Crummer was someone that we looked at last year when she played with Jess [Fishlock] and Kim [Little] at Melbourne City, but we felt that maybe last year would be too early for her,” said Laura Harvey, Seattle Reign FC head coach and general manager. “She’s a dynamic player who will add a new dimension and depth to our attack. We’re excited to see what she can contribute to the club.”

The forward was the youngest member of Australia’s 2015 Women’s World Cup squad. She made two appearances in the tournament: playing in the group stage match against Sweden and Australia’s first World Cup quarterfinal against Japan.

“I think coming over to play for us will really help her develop,” said Harvey. “Bringing in someone who’s that young and has such an established goal scoring career is great. Playing in America is a huge challenge, but now is the time to get her here and give her the opportunity to try and achieve that.”
