Seattle Reign FC Acquire Yael Averbuch and 2018 NWSL College Draft Pick

Seattle Reign FC announced today the club has acquired defender Yael Averbuch and the 25th overall pick in today’s 2018 NWSL College Draft from Utah Royals FC in exchange for midfielder Diana Matheson.

Averbuch spent the 2017 season with FC Kansas City. The defender made 23 appearances, tallying 1 goal and 1 assist. The defender joined FC Kansas City in 2015, after spending the 2014 season with the Washington Spirit.

Reign FC now have the 25th and 36th overall pick in the NWSL College Draft.

Matheson missed the 2017 NWSL season while recovering from an ACL injury. The midfielder previously played 67 games for the Washington Spirit from 2013 to 2016, starting in 58. Matheson amassed 23 goals and 12 assists during her career with the Spirit.
