Seattle Reign FC Exercise Options on Eleven Players

Seattle Reign FC announced today that the team has exercised options on eleven players, while six other players have been offered new contracts for the 2018 NWSL season.

Players whose options were exercised for the 2018 season include: goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer; defenders Maddie Bauer, Rachel Corsie, Merritt Mathias, Kristen McNabb, and Rebekah Stott; midfielder Christine Nairn; and forwards Larissa Crummer, Kiersten Dallstream, Katie Johnson, and Beverly Yanez.

Defenders Lauren Barnes and Carson Pickett, midfielders Jessica Fishlock and Rumi Utsugi, forward Nahomi “Naho” Kawasumi, and goalkeeper Lydia Williams are out of contract and have been extended new contract offers.

Following the conclusion of the 2017 season, Reign FC defender Elli Reed and goalkeeper Madalyn Schiffel announced their retirement from professional soccer.

USA midfielder Megan Rapinoe and Canada midfielder Diana Matheson remain on the club’s roster as Federation Players.

Teams will have until Tuesday, October 24th to make submissions for players on the Re-Entry Wire.
