Seattle Reign FC Forward Megan Rapinoe Named to Tournament of Nations Roster
U.S. women’s national team head coach Jill Ellis announced today the roster for the team’s upcoming Tournament of Nations. Seattle Reign FC forward Megan Rapinoe is among the 23 players selected to face Australia, Japan, and Brazil.
Rapinoe returns to the roster after being called in for the team’s May friendlies against Sweden and Norway. She appeared as a substitute in the team’s match against Sweden. In NWSL play, the Reign FC forward has started all 14 matches for the club this season. Rapinoe is second in the NWSL in goals scored with nine, and has also tallied one assist.
The national team’s first match is July 27th against Australia at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm PT and can be seen on ESPN. This marks the first time since the 2015 Victory Tour that the USWNT will play a match in Seattle.

The second match will be held on June 30th against Brazil at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego with kickoff set for 5:00pm PT, and their final match will be August 3rd against Japan at the StubHub Center in Carson at 7:00pm PT.
