The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) today announced Seattle Reign FC midfielder Jess Fishlock was voted the NWSL Player of the Week for Week 22 of the 2017 NWSL season.

Fishlock scored two goals and tallied an assist in Reign FC’s 3–2 comeback win against the Washington Spirit to close out the season. It was the second time in club history Reign FC have overcome a two-goal deficit to win a match.

This is the 19th time a member of Reign FC has won Player of the Week, good for most in the NWSL, and it is the fourth time Fishlock has received the honor. The co-captain was named Player of the Week earlier this season for her week 2 performance against the Houston Dash, making her the 12th player in NWSL history to earn the award multiple times in the same season.

Fishlock started the comeback against the Spirit with her first goal in the 71st minute of the match. Forward Kiersten Dallstream played a long ball over the Spirit defense to an oncoming Fishlock. The midfielder took one touch and then chipped it over Spirit goalkeeper DiDi Haracic.

The midfielder then had the assist on the next goal to tie the match at two goals apiece. Fishlock played in forward Larissa Crummer behind the defense, who then chipped the ball over Haracic to equalize. It was Crummer’s first career NWSL goal.

The game-winning goal came in the 90th minute. Crummer sent a low driven cross into the box that was touched onto Dallstream from forward Katie Johnson. Dallstream then dropped it back to Fishlock who fired it past Haracic into the upper corner of the net, making the scoreline 3–2.

This marks the sixth time this season a Reign FC player has won the award, with goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer earning the honor with her week one performance, forward Nahomi Kawasumi in week five, and forward Megan Rapinoe in weeks 11 and 14 to go along with Fishlock’s two honors.

The NWSL Player of the Week is selected by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of media members that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
