Consistency

Everybody talks a big game

Everybody has huge ambitions

Everybody acts like they’re something special

Everybody wants to be something

Ever stop to wonder how you’re going to get there? Talking about it certainly isn’t the way to do it.

What’s your goal? What do you want to do? Not like “pass this test” or “finish this assignment” or “wake up at 8AM tomorrow”. I mean long term. 2,3,5,10 years from now. What do you want to do? What do you want to be? Have you ever thought of it?

If you don’t know, that’s okay. You’re not behind. Time is on your side. Figure yourself out.

But for those of you that do know, how are you planning on getting there? Are you sitting around talking about it with your friends every Friday?

What are you doing everyday to get yourself closer to that goal? Because let’s face it, big things take time. If your goal is HUGE, then it’s gonna take a LONG TIME to get there. Sorry to burst your bubble.

You’re not gonna get those six-pack abs, that 7 figure salary, that Ferrari, or whatever the hell it is that gets you going, overnight. You won’t even get it next week. Most of us won’t even get it next year. RIP to all the bubbles that just popped.

But is it hopeless?

Is it pointless?

Should we give up?

No.

No.

No.

Why?

Because first of all, understanding that this goal you have is a journey is the BIGGESTadvantage you could ever have. Understanding that you need to apply consistent effortto get there is almost half the fight. Applying it is the other half.

So if you’ve made it this far, I ask that each and every day you be patient. I ask that you understand that there will be setbacks. I ask that you enjoy the journey. I ask that you actively try to be better. I ask that you go to sleep at the end of the day being able to count the hundreds of things you’ve done over the course of the day that will get you closer to your goal.

There is no AHA moment. There is no opening a door and “making it”. The goals you have in mind manifest themselves subtly.

Gradually.

Over time.

Through consistency.
