Mayor Pete is the Big Bang Theory of politicians: bland, unoriginal, and makes very shallow appeals to nerdism because a bunch of suburban normies want someone who makes them feel intelligent. Like Big Bang Theory, indulging in Mayor Pete’s schtick says a lot about you as a person. You have no core ideals, no vision, no taste, and you’re a rube that’ll fall for any poll-tested bullshit that marketers will throw your way. He’s the DNC’s idea of what a progressive is. It’s a coin-flip between him and Amy Kloubuchar over who is the most insufferable chud in this primary.
Progress is bold, compromising your values to appease people who have a mutually exclusive vision of America will get us nowhere. Civil rights was not a compromise between African Americans and segregationists. Women’s suffrage was not a compromise between feminists and misogynists. “Pragmatic” is code for “The status quo is fine and I won’t do anything to fundamentally change it.” Mayor Pete is trash, and glad Nathan Robinson of Current Affairs pegged him for the truthless slug that he is months ago.
