It's terrible that people forgo sanity and their own ability to critically think and trade it for faith. The most disgusting aspect are the televangelists who prey on these people as well. They'll get families to donate their last dollars rather than seeking to pay for medical treatment, not that they'd even be able to afford it in the U.S.

There's also groups like the Jehovah's witnesses that'll avoid allowing their children to receive transfusions...it's really just child abuse wrapped up neatly with religion.
