RemodelMate is a Humble Venture

I think I look great in orange, in my not-so-humble opinion.

humble ventures, a venture catalyst cooperative that serves as the bridge between startups, investors, and established organizations has accepted RemodelMate into their Spring 2017 Accelerator and we’re excited to start working with them this coming Monday, February 27, 2017!

We’re looking forward to working with the humble crew because they believe that the best way to realize opportunity is through collaboration & partnerships — two things that we at RemodelMate agree with whole-heartedly — and will be showing us the step-by-step process to build a very valuable castle with a really big moat from the bottom, up, throughout their 13-week program in Alexandria, VA.

Mary Iafelice, managing director, says “[I] was born and raised in a tech startup so to speak, working everything from internal auditing, software Q+A, technical writing & sales — a product of being the daughter of an entrepreneur. Since then, I’ve turned more toward customer discovery, activation & experience.”

“Words are my strong suit, so I’ll be working with the startups in this cohort by refining their value propositions and messaging to reach new segments of the market.”

Chad Hall, co-founder and CEO couldn’t be more thrilled and says “it’s just crazy how opportunities like this are never on schedule, but always on time.” alluding to the accelerator’s start date coinciding with the upcoming busy season for home improvement.

“Now is the time to stabilize, accelerate, and grow the company by working alongside mentors and advisors that invest their time as well as intellectual, human, social, political, and financial capital into the startups like ours.”

P.S. We’re also competing for $5,000.00 Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5p-8p at Impact Hub DC. You should get tickets here.

Super special shoutout goes out to Melissa Bradley and the entire team at Project 500 for putting on the 3rd annual Venture DC #BlackTech Pitch Competition.

Melissa and the gang believe that backing minority-led companies is a financial investment with guaranteed returns and you should too. For more details on what the event is all about you can learn more here.

Did I mention we’re gonna be at #SXSW starting a ruckus? More on that in another post.
