Fashion business is a dynamic and ever-evolving industry that keeps up with changing trends. In an effort to promote their products, fashion businesses often create product catalogs that feature many model and color options. These product catalogs are one of the most effective marketing tools to attract consumers who want to buy clothing or fashion accessories.

However, when creating product catalogs that feature many models and colors, fashion business owners often face problems in producing consistent images. The colors of clothing and accessories can look different depending on the lighting and environmental conditions during the photoshoot, making it difficult to create consistent images that accurately represent the products. Therefore, in an effort to create consistent and appealing product images for consumers, the use of image editing applications such as Adobe Photoshop can be an effective solution.

Let me show you an easy way to change the color of your products so you can have a product catalog with a variety of colors

This is the homepage of Adobe Photoshop version 2022

Select File in the top menu bar, click Open and choose which photo you want to increase the color of. Then, click Create new Fill or Adjustment Layer in the menu bar below, and select Selective Color.

This object photo wearing a red winter jacket. We will be changing the color to match other products in the catalog. This method can save on photo shoot budgets and speed up the sales process. Since the original color is red, on the properties bar to the right, I am using the preset color: Reds. You can slide the Slider Bar to get the appropriate color on the product catalog

Do the same to produce other colors on the jacket worn by this little girl talent. Experiment with CMYB color percentages to produce other beautiful colors.

CMYK stands for Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-black, which is usually referred to as a process color or four colors based on the subtractive color model used in the world of color printing.

Some colors may be difficult to obtain this way. You can use the Hue/Saturation filter. Let me show you how. Select Create new Fill or Adjustment Layer in the bottom menu bar, then click on Hue/Saturation.on the properties bar on the right, use preset:Default, Reds.

Slider Hue is a bar representation of the color wheel. By sliding the Hue slider bar, you can shift all colors in the image around the color wheel. When starting from the middle position of the bar, you can slide the Hue slider bar up to 180 degrees in all directions.

The biggest disadvantage of the Hue/Saturation filter is that this technique can shift some areas or colors in the image that you did not intend to change. For example, in the case below, you only want to change the color of the jacket, but the color of the background also shifts slightly.

The solution is to use a layer mask to remove color wherever you don’t want it. The technique is quite simple: click the white Layer Mask box, then use the Pen Tool in the menu bar on the left to brush over the areas where you want to restore the original color.

You can use a combination of the Hue/Saturation filter and a layer mask to produce colors that you cannot obtain from the Selective Color filter.

Great! The Hue/Saturation filter can indeed provide many different color possibilities, depending on how you adjust the sliders and other parameters. Sometimes, the desired color cannot be achieved with the Selective Color filter, so using the Hue/Saturation filter can help achieve the desired result.

In addition, using a layer mask can provide additional flexibility in selectively adjusting colors, so the final result can be even better. Don’t hesitate to keep trying and experimenting with different image editing techniques to achieve even better results.
