Rep. Jared Huffman

Jeff Corwin — the renowned wildlife biologist who has spent years educating and entertaining us on TV — is this week’s very special guest on “Off the Cuff w. Rep. Huffman.”

While you’re used to turning on the television and seeing Jeff with all kinds of wildlife, what you may not know is that he is a fierce conservation advocate, and even came to the House Committee on Natural Resources to testify against dangerous proposals that would undermine fish and wildlife protections.

I got to sit down with Jeff after the committee hearing to debrief on his experience appearing before Congress, and on the general state of play in the conservation world and in Washington.

With Natural Resources Committee Chairman recently stating he would like to “repeal and replace” the Endangered Species Act, our conversation was timely. We’re talking about the primary legislative tool for preserving the U.S.’s most vulnerable species from extinction. Of the more than 2,000 species that have been listed under the Endangered Species Act in the last forty years, 99% are still in existence today. I’d call that a success!

Tune in for an exciting conversation ranging from what concerned citizens can do save their favorite animals to what Trump’s infamous border wall would do to fragile ecosystems, to Jeff’s favorite marine mammal.

Have a question? Please send it to huffmanpodcast@gmail.com and you can hear me answer on a future episode of “Off the Cuff with Rep. Huffman.”

Cheers!
