Time to showcase the game in events around Europe!

It really has been a long long time without any updates. This is because I’ve been extremely busy with a lot of business-related things and events going on.

The development is still going on but this time has been a bit slower due to those. Most of the improvements have been quality of life aditions or bug fixes.

So what have we been doing in all this time then?

In between worlds animation

We have been working hard to have the first world completely finished. And now that it is, it is time to implement the other 4 worlds. But before going there we need to implement some in-between worlds animation.

This is what we came out with:

End of the world animation

What are Pushy and Pully doing there? What is that map? Those questions will be answered in later posts :) But for now I hope you like our animations.

The blue background stage you see at the end of the video is just a test for the second world. It is by no means final and we are going to have themed enemies and such. So don’t take it as the final version.

New Music and Sound Effects

Our musician has been very busy preparing the new music for the world 2 stages and boss fight. They all fit perfect with the theme of World 2 which is the Ice World. I hope I can show you in the next update part of the music because it is very catchy and I think It fits perfect with the theme of the world.

We have also fixed some volume issues with the sound effects and now everything sounds as it should.

This is not really visible work here but you’ll hear it when I show new levels or if you play the closed beta.

Fixed small issues

We were working very hard to have a very stable version of the game containing a complete World 1. This made us go through the build several times in all the platforms and tackle some issues that were still there.

Most of them were tiny, but we have now a very polished and complete build.

For example if you were playing the private beta one of the things you probably noticed was the blurry letters in the enter name screen. That is fortunately fixed by now :)

Geek Touch Festival in Lyon

On May 4th and 5th we were invited to showcase the game in Lyon at the Geek Touch Festival.

A parent helping his little kid to play with his older brother

It was an event focused in Japanese and Geek culture and we really had a blast. A lot of people came to try the game, we even had queues sometimes!

People having fun with Pushy and Pully

It was also a great moment to test our Switch Build which worked flawlessly :) And everybody enjoyed seen the game running on a Switch.

Casual Connect Europe and Indie Prize in London

I’m happy to announce that we are finalists in the Indie Prize at Casual Connect Europe!

This means we will be showcasing in London from May 28th till 30th and on the last day we’ll know if we are winners of any of the prizes (fingers crossed!!)

What about the private beta?

There is going to be a new private beta soon. The beta will be in Steam so I will share it with the subscribers as soon as Steam gives me access to the developer portal. This unfortunately doesn’t deppend on me so I can’t really say when that will happen.

If you want to join the beta please join our discord server at discord.gg/pushyandpully (yay we’re a verified server!) and follow instructions there.

I’m planning to do some nice games while we reach the release date so stay tunned in the server. It’s going to be fun! and there may be something in for the ones who follow us along the way :)

What’s next?

Preparing for the events take a lot of time but that’s something we need to do to promote and test the game. In between events and preparations I’ll continue adding the second world monsters and I hope I can show you more about it in the next update.

I am also probably going to move to a small office (yay!) and I’m changing the company form so that will probably take some time from development too.

But know that the game keeps going on and it looks more and more complete every build!

See you in the next update!
