All of us remember coming from school and getting together at a friend’s place to play Islander, Ninja Turtles, Contra, Excitebike and so many other Nintendo and Sega retro video games.

Nintendo and Sega are credited of having introduced to the world with many iconic games. We will be discussing these games and their history in each of our article in detail. Today we will be talking about one retro game each and every one of us just loved playing: Mario Bros!

It was on July 14, 1983 when Nintendo launched one of the most iconic games of all time: Mario Bros. This arcade game was launched for Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Atari 5200, home computer systems and Atari 7800.

Luigi first appeared in this game, the first of the many Mario Bros installments. Later, it was also launched for the Wii Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS for $4.99

Mario was originally featured in the game Donkey Kong but gamers feel Mario Bros is the “original” game to feature Mario. A separate mini game for Mario Bros was also launched which played just like the game launched originally. It has graphics which were updated in the two-player mode of the retro game Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was also launched for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Mario Bros NES version has been ported to Mario Bros.-e, which is an e-Reader game. It had 3 sequels: Punch Ball Mario Bros., Mario Bros Special and Mario Clash.
