Welcome to the first of many Return platform updates. While we are in Beta we are constantly building and adding new features to the Return Protocol and we want to keep the community informed of these as they are being built.

SKINS:
We have big plans for users to show more of their personality through their Impact Identity.
The Return Impact Identity is a Soulbound token that is minted explicitly for you, based on your actions, and can not be traded. As we’ve talked about previously, it’s dynamic so that as you continue to take perpetual or repeat action it will visually transform to represent the current level of your impact. With the introduction of this new feature, you can visually transform your Impact Identity, in a much more personalized manner.
You can only apply one Skin to the appearance of your Impact Identity at a time but you can hold multiple skins in your wallet and change them in your User Dashboard. Each skin is designed to represent a specific community with its own unique values, providing the first opportunity to tie your persona to the Impact Identity.
We’ve already launched the first few skins! An initial “Early Adopter” skin was awarded to those that took climate action and minted their Impact Identity in the first 72 hours after the platform’s launch. This was followed by our first community-based skin with DegenScore and their brand-new Beacon community!
COLLABORATIVE ACTION:
How great would it be to take climate action with a group of others, whether in a formal community or just a friendship group?
This is what we have been working on! Mobilizing individual efforts for the planet affects all of us, so it makes sense that this could and should become a collaborative movement to reflect that.
By utilizing the Skins you can take action together! We will soon be releasing a new Leaderboard feature to show the efforts of the community. The goal is to empower those that align with a community by providing the tools needed to set goals, take collaborative action, and compete to make an impact at an ever-increasing scale.
USER ACCOUNTS:
We have also started to add more features to the User Profile section.
Previously, a shortened version of your wallet address was used to identify your personalized account. We have already implemented the ability to use your ENS name (if you have one) instead.
In Development:
We are finishing up enabling the use of a custom user profile picture. Use this option to showcase an NFT project, your own identity, or support a climate project. More information on this is coming in the next blog.
These above enhancements are the first steps of the Community and Skins features. There is much more being built as we continue toward our goal of empowering everyone to take social and collaborative climate action. We will reveal more soon and can’t wait to get your continued feedback.
