With nearly 40 years in the field of education, Rey Mayoral recently retired from his work as the principal of Novato High School. From there, Rey Mayoral took on roles as an administrator-mentor for the San Rafael City Schools and as a project consultant at the Northern California Career Pathway Alliance (NCCPA) for the Marin County Office of Education.

The NCCPA provides programming for high school and community college students in the Marin, Napa, Lake, Mendocino, Solano, and Napa counties to help students succeed in their future careers. The programs represent a collaborative effort among the counties’ school boards, businesses, Workforce Investment Boards, and offices of education.

The programs prepare students in 16 career paths within eight industries, including STEM, public services, and tourism and hospitality. In collaboration with the College of Marin and the SunPower Corporation, the summer of 2017 included a summer internship called the Solar Energy Academy for a small group of select high school students interested in solar energy careers.
