Don’t Sweat It This Summer

Sweat can be an issue for many headwear users in the summer. Sweat can stain your costume wigs, baseball caps, and scarves and leave oils, odors and salt stain residue. Face it! The more you sweat, the more you need to wash your wigs and the quicker you are going to need to purchase a new wig. Did you know that we lose about 1 tsp. of water from our heads, each hour, when we perspire? Some products retain the moisture, and as the head heats up, it begins to “steam” the head, like you would a lobster. This increases the core body temperature and makes us hotter, more tired and more prone to irritability.

Each liner can be used for 80 hours, which is about 10–14 days of use. The back layer absorbs so many of the impurities, that the liner needs to be disposed of after this time frame, or it won’t evaporate the perspiration effectively. The liners can be tossed in the garbage, when they are soiled and two new liners can be placed inside the wig/ hat/ scarf/ helmet.

For extreme comfort, it’s important to use 2 liners. One in the front and one in the back of the headwear item. They were made this way, so they wouldn’t need to be sized and will fit every size and shaped head. Since tape doesn’t stick well to oil, please make sure that you wipe down the inside of the headwear item, prior to removing the peel strip, and sticking it into the wig/ hat/ helmet.
